  • LMSS (lower mss) : 5,068 sqft footprint (181 x 28), 2 floors
  • UMSS (upper mss) : 4,060 sqft footprint (145 x 28), 2 floors
  • Kinder (upper mss) : 3,140 sqft footprint (80 x 28 + 22 x 30 + 20 x 12), 1 floor.

  • Total floor space (includes 2nd floors): 21,990 sqft

Classrooms:

  • 14 total, thirteen 28 x 28 feet and one 28 x 40 feet
  • 11,312 sqft of floor space
  • 51% of total facilities floor space.

Classrooms in use:

  • 10 total, nine 28 x 28 feet and one 28 x 40 feet
  • 8,176 sqft of floor space
  • 37% of total facilities floor space.

General Observations

LMSS

  • Old building with pronounced wear and tear
  • Major clean up and fix up due to broken fixtures and plumbing, stained and broken tiles, missing switch and outlet covers, termite damage, etc.
  • Possible structural issues in certain places (upstairs bathroom, apartments, west balcony) and possible roof leak in the 7th grade classroom and the apartments.
  • Electrical system needs documentation and modernization and repairs
  • Water system needs documentation and repairs
  • Doors need to be replaced
  • 1,650 sqft of windows need to be converted to accommodate airconditioning

UMSS

  • Old building but still structurally sound and has not not been modified much
  • Building was designed back in the 1960's for open airflow at a time when electricity was mainly used for lighting. It needs to be modernized for internal climate control and for heavier and more complex energy usage.
  • Electrical system needs documentation and modernization and repairs
  • Water system needs documentation and repairs
  • The 21 exterior doors need to be replaced
  • 1,600 sqft of windows need to be converted to accommodate airc onditioning.
  • The restroom may need to be renovated, a second exit added, and the electrical mains relocated to a safer location.

Kinder

  • Relatively new but can do with cleaning and maintenance/fix ups.
  • Some signs of roof leak in boys bathroom and library
  • Electrical system is not documented.
  • Water system is not documented (but simple, services only one restroom).
  • Six (210 sqft) of twelve windows need to be converted from louvres to a style that can accommodate air conditioning.
  • Five of seven exterior doors need to be replaced.
  • Termite damage especially in furniture that can transfer to wooden walls.
